Singapore was pretty worthwhile overall. Along with being a great learning experience, going to Singapore gave me the opportunity to live with my loving family in Singapore. workplace folk were pretty awesome. I didn't meet a person there that i didn't like. everybody was really nice and the country seems like a pretty special place to live. the only damage was an addiction to spicy food and 15 lbs!

FYI: Singapore just held the worlds first F1 Night Race which would have been pretty cool to be around for, but someone @ Ostate decided it was better to start school before October. so yea i've been suffering from a lil singapore withdrawal.

golfing with friends back home has been pretty very special too. but summer has ended and i've finally moved into my new place. hopefully, this will be my last place because moving isn't very fun.

ive been getting pretty sick the past few days:

illness #1: the Skins took it home against the 'boys last night. (3-1)

illness #2: saw The Roots for free and those guys can perform. and this morning I woke up and saw John Legend for free as well.

illness #3: the Buck's got a new starting QB / The return of Beanie

the Legend performance was a short set brought to OState by the Obama Campaign which was pretty interesting/a good way to get students to vote when you need them to.

Right around midway through my trip and I've enjoyed myself a lot more than I've expected to. I've got to stop eating so much though, foods pretty nice and pretty cheap here and I've put on a few lbs, but I'm not too concerned... live while you can I guess.

I'm kind of getting excited to come back though. I'm also getting kind of excited about this year's OSU football season. I think the boys will get it done this year and Terelle Pryor should be pretty fun to watch.

I would trade Clinton Portis for Chris Wells and I'm not a CP26 hater, in fact he's probably my favorite personality on the skins. Nonetheless, I stand by my word. Chris Wells for Clinton Portis any day.

The View from the Bathroom

Just a quick post tonight before go to bed...

There is a large window by the urinals in the bathroom at my office. This view makes going to the bathroom quite enjoyable...

Below is a view from the actual urinal. A true first hand point of view - urination style.

This picture doesn't do justice to the actual view that you can get while taking a piss. Just so you know, it doesn't feel cool to be taking pictures while you're in the bathroom. I know girls do it all the time, but I don't know what I would've done had someone walked in while I was standing by the urinal taking and taking a picture. So this is the best i can do for yall.. I assure you its much nicer from another angle.

next post... view from the toilet!! if you're really lucky maybe i'll show you the view from the toilet bowl!

First off, I really need to start carrying around a camera, but I hate feeling tourist-y so i probably won't take any pictures during my stay and i'll probably forget all the fine details of this 8 week stay in a few months time.

Today was quite an interesting day because I visited "the gunnery" today and I think i found out what i want to do with my life. But yeah the gunnery is this pretty snazzy production studio with nice coffee and high quality speakers / hdtv's and such. Basically, It's a true big kids playground. Anyways, I got to experience the production of a Toyota radio commercial that will be aired here in Singapore for the next few days. They did an English and Chinese version and I must say that the English voice talent was pretty professional/gangster if you know what i mean. It's pretty cool to be a producer though, they seem like they live pretty chill lives so i wonder how much they actually work and how much money they make.

moral of the story: I want to become a booming professional voice talent.

In other news... has anyone seen the footage of the WNBA fight? If not, take a look:

1) that was probably the most uneventful brawl i've ever seen...I don't think anyone actually hit anyone face to face
2)how was that girl getting carried off in a wheelchair

Regardless, I would just like to say that I now consider the WNBA to be a professional sporting league. Also, Number 30 (the tall ugly white girl for the Detroit Shock) / Former OSU bball star / '08 Womens US Olympian / former pickup basketball teammate of mine was quoted saying: "Is it the right kind of attention? No. But I don't think the publicity hurts." In Singapore they call girls like that "BOOCH" but thats because they don't know how to pronounce "butch."

My take on the happening? It's funny that julie xue has been to a wnba game. whatabooch

I just finished up week 1 of 8 here in Singapore. My stay so far has been pretty enjoyable. Singapore has changed a lot since the last time i was here, which was 7 years ago. Everything is pretty new and renovated. I don't remember seeing a skyline or any kind of nice buildings when i was last here. My previous memories of Singapore consist of retrieving balls from sewage drains, boring encounters with the fam, smelly markets, and the modified menu at Burger King.

The building where I work is pretty cool. It's located in Singapore's "business district" so I feel pretty professional and important going into work. The bathroom has a pretty cool view, maybe i'll be able to take/upload/share pics later on. But yeah, I work on the 46th floor of the building pictured below. My ears pop in the elevator due to pressure change and everything. According to wikipedia " it was the tallest building in the world outside North America at the time of its completion in 1986."

I've been reaping the benefits from my internship already. On Wednesday one of the account managers gave me 2 preview tickets a sneak preview of the new batman movie. I'm told the movie came out on the 18th in the US so if that's the case I got to see it about 2 days earlier than the folks that caught midnight shows in the US. I've never been to a sneak preview and it was pretty interesting that we had to check our cell phones in before the entering the theater. Halfway through the movie I saw the security using some kind of scope to examine the crowd for pirates I'm guessing.

Anyways they have basketball here which is pretty cool, the first day I was here I played a fullcourt game with about 20 elementary school kids. I actually managed to run a legitimate full court game today with kids my age and size (suprisingly.) Everyone here is pretty short, so going back to Ohio when school starts again will be humbling. I also brought my clubs out here with very little expectations but since coming here I've been to the driving range twice already. My aunt introduced me to this guy who is a pretty legit golfer. But anyways, driving ranges here are much nicer because there are some that are quadruple deckers and balls are pretty much half the price back home. Every driving range "bay" has a table behind it so it's a much more social environment than the US. Another cool thing about the ranges is that they serve drinks, including beers. The only problem is that the ranges are in meters so you have to do a little bit a of math to figure out the distances in American values.

That's all for now i guess. Nobody reads this really so this is more like a legitimate journal entry to help me jog my memory in the future. But to anyone who may actually read this, i'll post more again sometime soon with pictures and cooler more exciting stories hopefully.

Time to watch the Greg Norman in the British Open before getting to sleep.

Happy Birthday Nick if you ever see this.
